Job Description:

The Director of Alumni Relations at York College of Pennsylvania provides vital leadership for all aspects of York College of Pennsylvania's Alumni Relations program. The Director will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to engage alumni, parents, and friends of the college, with the overall goal of strengthening the culture of engagement at YCP. They will work to create a visible and strong alumni network for professional and personal support, and create programming and messaging that add to the creation of a culture of philanthropy.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Alumni Relations and the York College Fund. The Director of Alumni Relations plays a major role in achieving the goals of the Office of Development. Primary responsibilities include:
  • Establish engagement, cultivation, and conversion goals, objectives and metrics in accordance with strategic plan and in collaboration with Advancement partners.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of all direct mail, email, social media and printed materials.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of all alumni events and programs and represent the Office of Alumni Relations at all Development Events.
  • Analyze Alumni Relations results/accomplishments and reports the programs' progress to leadership.
  • Advise and manage the Alumni Association Board of Directors.
  • Work collaboratively with a variety of campus partners, including Academic Departments, Career Development, Student Affairs, Enrollment, and Marketing and Communications.
  • Maintain a cultivation portfolio to increase alumni conversion from engagement to participation and add alumni to the fundraising pipeline.
  • Supervise the Assistant Director for Alumni Relations and oversee the overall operation of the Alumni Relations Office.
  • Represent the College in a wide range of professional settings and constituencies.

Requirements:

Candidate should posses the following Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in alumni relations, higher education, event planning, or volunteer management. Experience working directly in alumni relations or fundraising is preferred.
  • Experience with project management and the ability to handle and move forward multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of maturity in social and professional settings.
  • The ability to establish and maintain good working relationships and effective channels of communication at multiple levels of the organization.
  • The ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and offer solutions.
  • The ability to collaborate closely with colleagues in Development and across departments.
  • Must have flexibility to work evenings and weekends with occasional overnight travel.
