Job Summary:

The Food Entrepreneurship Outreach Specialist Position will develop, implement and evaluate the Community Food Systems Program's Food Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Development (FEED) Initiative, a statewide program that promotes food entrepreneurship training and network development for individuals facing structural barriers to food entrepreneurship and value-added producers. The outreach specialist will work with other Extension and campus-based specialists to develop trainings and content for entrepreneurs while contributing to applied research on entrepreneurship ecosystem development. The outreach specialist will be responsible for establishing partnerships with other entities that provide support services to small and micro-enterprises. The position will support network and professional development for an internal network of educators serving the needs of small-scale food businesses and direct market farms in their regions. Working closely with the Community Food Systems Program Manager, the position will also work on expanding access to Program content and resources through expanded multilingual offerings, collaborations with Tribal partners, and the use of participatory approaches to program development and evaluation.

- Ability to work productively with indirect supervision
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills in a team setting
- Skillful in establishing and maintaining professional work relationships and networks
- Knowledge of entrepreneurship development
- Knowledge of community food systems
- Commitment to social justice and culturally responsive programming
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, form and effectively maintain working relationships with persons or associations from cultures other than one's own
- Ability to develop new partnerships and public-facing programming
- Effective public speaking and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt to changing programming and workplace priorities

Preferred:
- Prior experience working for a small business or micro-enterprise development organization.
- Prior experience working in the food business development sector.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Master's degree in a related field.
