The Institute for Veterans and Military Families’ ( IVMF ) research and analytics (R&A) team is seeking a Technical Solutions Trainer interested in joining our team. This position will report directly to the Data Solution Architect and collectively work with geographically dispersed program leads, subject matter experts, and external program partners to determine overall technical training needs and subsequently drive training initiatives. This position will identify needs, research solutions, and develop customized, creative, and effective methods to educate and enhance performance across the Institute. Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Two (2) years advanced education is required.
  • hree (3) years Operations experience.
  • Knowledge of ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy or equivalent instructional design models is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Skillsoft, Coursera or equivalent learning management system is preferred.
  • Proficient in Office 365.
  • Broad knowledge of Salesforce or equivalent CRM platform is preferred.
  • Experience as a trainer and developing associated materials and media.

  • Excellent communicator, both oral and written; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with leadership and colleagues.
  • Positive, team-focused, and customer-service mindset.
  • Preference given to those with a military service connection, or who have worked with veteran, military, and/or family stakeholders, universities or think-tanks, and familiarity with related government programs and services for veterans, families, and related civilian human services programs.
Responsibilities
  • Training Development & Delivery.
  • Know and apply adult learning methodologies.
  • Obtain/Maintain knowledge of program and department processes & technology solutions related to the processes.
  • Develop training plans based on program, department, and external partner training needs.
  • Provide on-boarding training based on program, department, and external partner needs.
  • Provide on-going technical training support.
  • Report training progress to leadership.
  • Support implementation of new operational processes and changes to existing processes.
  • Training Documentation, Materials, and Media.
  • Ensure all training documentation and content is current.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts to develop training material that supports the operational needs of the institute as they relate to internal and external programs.
  • Organization Improvement.
  • Identify and address competencies and competency gaps.
  • Ensure competency gaps are being addressed.
  • Work with program leads, subject matter experts, and external partners to identify and implement training initiatives that align with operational/technology solutions that will continue to improve staff overall knowledge and performance.
  • Professional Development.
  • Stay current with new training methodologies through individual learning and formal training in order to provide recommendations for improvements and maximize the effectiveness of the training initiative.
  • Periodically research best practices and availability of tools to improve and streamline training efforts.
