Butler University Libraries invite applications for a Science Librarian with a 12-month, continuing (non-tenured) faculty appointment. This position serves as the liaison librarian in support of the science departments housed in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (Biological Sciences; Chemistry and Biochemistry; Computer Science & Software Engineering; Engineering Dual Degree; Mathematics, Statistics, & Actuarial Science; Physics & Astronomy; and Psychology) as well as the interdisciplinary programs in Data Science; Neuroscience; and Science, Technology, & Environmental Studies.

Responsibilities: This position collaborates with faculty to provide course-integrated library instruction in support of programmatic student learning outcomes, leads collection development for science programs, and provides research support for students and faculty. In addition, this position will serve as a staff resource for students working our Information Commons Science Library service point. This is a 12-month, continuing (non-tenured) faculty appointment and reports to the Associate Dean for Instruction and User Services. This position is expected to fulfill the requirements of faculty status through active contributions in the areas of librarianship, scholarship/professional contributions, and university service. The Libraries provide expertise, resources, and services with a focus on preparing undergraduate students to navigate a complex information environment. Minimum and Preferred Qualifications: Successful candidates must have a Master's of Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution at the time of appointment, and have the ability to meet minimum qualifications for the rank of Assistant Professor as stated in the Butler University Library Faculty Guidelines. An educational background in the sciences, or work experience in science disciplines is preferred.
