The Department of Criminal Justice & Criminology at Marshall University invites applications for a full-time tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2022. Established in 1974, the program is among the oldest in the state of West Virginia and the first to offer both bachelors and masters degrees in criminal justice. The program continues to expand with an increased emphasis on technology and is searching for an energetic teacher and scholar. The successful candidate must be able to teach a broad range of core criminal justice and criminology courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition, the candidate’s ability to teach courses in legal studies such as courts, criminal law and procedure, law of evidence, and civil liability issues is preferred. The department also has plans to pursue a new social justice area of emphasis, in which this new faculty member will contribute. Qualifications include a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or closely related discipline. ABDs with firm completion of the degree by time of appointment will be considered.
