This position covers teaching, research, and service
responsibilities appropriate for the rank of Assistant/Associate
Professor. This position has an Adult Health focus. This is a
Doctorate or equivalent terminal degree
Discipline / Degree Area:
Nursing, Education, or a related field
Required Specialized Training/Certifications:
Current Michigan RN licensure (unrestricted) or eligibility in
Must have a graduate degree in Nursing (either Masters or
Required Minimum Work Experience:
Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Experience with Adult Health Nursing.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for

Time management skills: The ability to manage one's own time and
that of others.
Active Learning: Understanding the implications of new information
for both current and future problem-solving and

methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning
or teaching new things.
Interpersonal Orientation: Knowledge of principles and processes
for interacting effectively with others.
Problem Sensitivity: The ability to tell when something is wrong or
is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem,
only recognizing there is a problem.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
Experience with Obstetric/Maternal-Child Health Nursing.
Experience with Medical-Surgical Nursing.
Experience with Population Health Nursing.
Experience with teaching and/or computer-assisted instruction in an
accredited university setting.
Willingness to teach across the nursing curriculum.
Experience with teaching and planning clinical simulations.
Experience with online teaching.
