Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include teaching a wide-variety of graduate level and upper-division undergraduate Communication courses, including Principles of Advertising, Integrated Brand Management, Strategic Presentations in a Digital Environment, and graduate-level classes in one’s discipline area. 

Qualifications

Minimum requirements: PhD (or ABD) in Communications or related field. Qualified candidates will be expected to apply dynamic teaching methods to current course offerings and will develop curriculum in advertising content strategies. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in visual storytelling, and high-level involvement in content creation, design, tactics, campaign deployment, measurement, and full multi-channel media expertise.

Preferred candidates would have relevant work experience in strategic communications including social media, mobile and digital content creation, publication and evaluation. Background in Leadership and Entrepreneurship is a plus.

 

Successful candidates should also be committed to contributing to a climate via teaching, committee engagements, community work, and/or research that supports a diverse study body, serves first-generation college students, and contributes to equity and social justice.

 

Currently the Communication department offers studies in Advertising and Public Relations, Film and Digital Media, and Sports Communications. The successful candidate will work with these disciplines and the Art and Design programs, preparing students for careers as communication professionals.
