THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY AT LOYOLA UNIVERSITY MARYLAND invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor to serve as Director of Undergraduate and Masters Field Education, beginning in February of 2022. The Director of Undergraduate and Masters Field Education serves as the primary coordinator for the department's undergraduate and masters-level externship placements throughout the calendar year. The person hired for this 12-month full time position will be expected to spend 60% of their time on administrative operations related to field education and 40% of their time engaged in the supervision of student field experience and/or related classroom teaching. Some service to the department and university is also required. The ideal candidate must be able to excel in the administrative aspects of the role and possess a strong interest in the field experience and externship training of advanced undergraduate and masters students.

Required qualifications include: (1) an earned masters or doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or related field; (2) a license as either a psychologist or professional counselor in the state of Maryland; (3) excellent communication, organization and management skills; (4) knowledge of and experience working with local networks of mental health providers; (5) ability to supervise the clinical training of graduate and undergraduate students; (6) ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in counseling/psychotherapy and other areas of expertise; (7) knowledge of the licensure process at the masters level; (8) ability to create a sense of inclusion and belonging in clinical training settings, and to infuse multicultural content into clinical supervision; (9) strong commitment to excellence in teaching, including an appreciation of or engagement in high-impact teaching practices; and (10) ability to contribute to the Jesuit educational mission of the department and university.
