The Morrison Family College of Health at the University of St. Thomas invites applications for a tenure-track or clinical track position for the inaugural faculty team in the newly established School of Nursing. Applicants must have expertise in maternal-child and/or pediatric nursing practice.

The School of Nursing is committed to improving access to higher education for underrepresented students. We seek candidates with a history of and demonstrated commitment to supporting that effort through teaching and mentoring activities. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and commitment to expanding access to nursing education.

Faculty in the inaugural faculty team will be involved in all aspects of building a new proposed nursing program, and will bring an innovative mindset and a passion for realizing the Morrison Family College of Health vision.

Our faculty will teach a variety of courses in pre-licensure nursing programs. A commitment to maintaining inclusive and equitable experiences for students is expected. Candidates requesting consideration for a tenure-line position will be expected to demonstrate, in addition, to maintain an active research/scholarship agenda. All areas of nursing research/scholarship will be considered.

Tenure-Track:

PhD (U.S. or Foreign Equivalent) in Nursing or closely related field, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) (U.S. or Foreign Equivalent); alternatively ABD will also be considered.  Alternatively, a candidate with an EdD, PhD in an area unrelated to Nursing is acceptable if the candidate holds a bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Nursing. Must be eligible for RN licensure in the state of Minnesota. Applicants must have expertise in maternal-child and/or pediatric nursing practice.  Tenure track faculty without a completed doctorate will have an initial appointment at the rank of Instructor and be eligible for Assistant Professor rank upon completion.

Clinical:

Instructor Faculty Position requires a minimum of a Master's Degree (U.S. or Foreign Equivalent) in Nursing or closely related degree required.  Alternatively, a candidate with a minimum of a Master's degree in an area unrelated to Nursing is acceptable if the candidate holds a bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Nursing.  Must be eligible for RN licensure in the state of Minnesota. Applicants must have expertise in maternal-child and/or pediatric nursing practice. 

Applicants must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or eligible for legally required exemption such as a medical or religious reason.
