About the Opportunity:
Host regular mindfulness sessions and workshops focused on wellbeing and health, meditation practice, yoga, and other events and programs rooted in spirituality, dialogue, and service for Northeastern's Bay Area students (primarily) and students across Northeastern's Global Campus Network
Responsibilities:
- Keep office hours for spiritual advising/guidance/care.
Maintain an active presence on campus and with students
- Be available as needed to meet with and serve students of all
religious/spiritual traditions, and none
- Serve as a bridge to Northeastern's Center for Spirituality,
Dialogue, and Service (CSDS), Mindfulness Fellows and Spiritual
Advisors, and other resources to serve students. Keep the Bay Area
community up to date on CSDS' Boston-based programs and consider
programs to adapt locally
- Assist with mindfulness initiatives and trainings with the
support of CSDS
- Assist with Dinner Dialogue series, Wellness Week, and other
wellness-related events
- Be a thought leader and partner in designing the wellness
experience for the Bay Area campuses
- Interest in supporting students in their own practice of peer
leadership
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Certification in Mindfulness Practices and/or 200-hour Yoga
Alliance Certification
- Prior experience leading guided Mindfulness/Meditation
practices
- Experience in designing and leading Wellness practices
- Experience facilitating workshops, challenging
conversations
- Experience working with a diverse population and team.
Experience working with college and graduate school aged learners a
plus
- Warmth, caring, ability to quickly build rapport and
connection, flexibility
- Experience with diverse cultural and
religious/spiritual/humanist traditions
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree highly recommended. Degree in Religious
Studies or Wellness-related fields preferred
- Past experience in chaplaincy or pastoral care a plus
- Strong personal connection or lived experience with
religious/spiritual traditions
- Experience with designing and launching (in-person, virtual,
and hybrid) programs and program assessment and evaluation
- Familiarity with virtual and hybrid environment
Salary Range:
$20/hr
