About the Opportunity:
Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Admissions Events, the Events Assistant provides office support for the Undergraduate Admissions Unit, most specifically the Events Team and the Visitor Center. S/He will support all event planning initiatives for the Events Team, from planning through post-event evaluation.

Responsibilities:
S/He manages complex room reservations to ensure space is secured and properly set for all Admissions programming. S/He will continue current and create new vendor relations necessary for preparing and hosting successful prospective and admitted student
programs. The Events Assistant will control the process of documentation and organization for the team. Additionally, the Events Assistant serves as the data liaison for the Admissions Staff and College partners.

This individual will be expected to clearly communicate office needs and expectation when working with vendors, in addition to reviewing contracts and ensuring payments are being processed. S/he delivers significant customer service functions including
visitor reception, phone and email coverage, and responds to admissions status-related inquiries by prospective students, their families and secondary school counselors. It is expected that this individual can identify when it is appropriate to escalate inquiries to
management and provide assists in researching and responding to escalated issues. The Events Assistant also provides support and receives assignments from other Admissions management team members.

Occasional nights or weekend will be required for on-campus programming and events.

Qualifications:
Two years of college or associates degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum of 1-3 years of progressively responsible administrative support in a professional or college/university setting. Prior experience with events or space reservations preferred. Must be able to multi-task and work independently to manage responsibilities. Strong computer skills necessary (Microsoft suite). Experience with both PC and Mac products preferred. Understanding of Social Tables beneficial.
