Location: Moscow

Position Summary:
The College of Natural Resources Grants and Contracts Specialist reports to the CNR Grants and Contracts Manager. This position collaborates with principal investigators (PIs) and the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) to review and evaluate grant/contact applications and proposals for compliance and accuracy. Provides grant management support by ensuring on-going award compliance; tracking of balances and expenditures; ensuring PIs are aware of program deadlines, requirements, and procedures. Provides support to CNR's fiscal operations and participates in other CNR activities and other duties as assigned. Will travel periodically to attend relevant training conferences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience processing financial transactions and budget management within a computerized accounting system in compliance with applicable policies.
- Experience compiling and summarizing financial data into report form.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2 or more years progressive experience in research administration, administration of sponsored projects, and/or writing grant proposals.
- Demonstrated knowledge of grant and contract administration, Federal and University regulations regarding grants, and University research policies.
- Demonstrated experience working with minimal supervision, ability to communicate effectively with others, use problem solving skills, and prioritize workload.
- Experience with the University of Idaho’s electronic research administration system.
- Experience with Banner (Finance, Human Resources, and Student modules).
- Good oral and written communication skills.
