Major/Essential Functions

​​​​​​Responsible for all recruitment efforts in the Office of Admissions

Develops a recruitment plan for all levels of recruitment for review by Associate Director and Senior Director

Focused on identifying the best ways for us to recruit by constant examination of efforts and outcomes.

Acts as the point person for all recruitment efforts.

Responsible for identifying and building relationships with institutions to create recruiting pipelines.

Responsible for all promotional and marketing efforts, including all media efforts.

Counsels and advises students concerning all requirements for application to medical school including the application process, components of a competitive application, and unique features of special programs of TTUHSC School of Medicine.

Conducts virtual and in-person presentations and or tours and recruitment events regarding medical school admissions and the unique aspects of programs at TTUHSC School of Medicine to prospective students, parents, counselors and advisors.

Coordinates the Applicant Seminar for all prospective students applying to medical school.

Coordinates and implements the annual health professions conferences (FHPE, FHPE Jr.) for all prospective students.

Travels extensively to recruit targeted populations as required at pre-health fairs, student organizations, meetings, K-12 educational settings and undergraduate institutions.

Works collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Outreach and Programs regarding the strategic goals for all outreach and programs to ensure a successful recruitment plan for K-12 students, undergraduates and other prospective applicants.

Plans and develops an overall recruitment plan for the Office of Admissions based on previous activities and outcomes. Proposes necessary changes for future improvement to the Associate Director and Senior Director.

Submits an overall recruitment plan and log annually to be reviewed and used for the annual WEAVE Strategic Assessment, Compliance and Accreditation.

Works collaboratively and assists the Office of Admissions staff with the preparation of the School of Medicine interviews.

Cross-trained to perform duties of Assistant Director of Outreach and Programs, as needed.

Participates in regional, state and national meetings to promote the mission of the School of Medicine.

Reports to the Associate Director of Admissions who oversees the overall recruitment, outreach and programs activities.

Duties may be assigned via the Associate Dean of Admissions or Senior Director of Admissions.

Pay Statement

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Three years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
