FULL TIME, TEMPORARY SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY FACULTY POSITION
DIVISION OF COMMUNICATION SCIENCES AND DISORDERS
SCHOOL OF MEDICINE


The Department of Human Performance, Division of Communication Sciences and Disorders at West Virginia University (WVU) is seeking full-time, temporary, non-benefits eligible, non-tenure track (6-month) Visiting Assistant Professor of Speech-Language Pathology. The faculty will contribute to a well-established program with a tradition of excellence in teaching, scholarship and service at the Assistant Professor rank. The successful candidate will contribute to the mission of WVU and the program in Communication Sciences and Disorders housed within the School of Medicine.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality teaching, and participate in clinical practice. Specifically, the successful faculty member will provide instruction to students at the undergraduate and graduate level. Individuals with expertise in assessment and treatment in developmental and acquired speech and language disorders, but expertise in all aspects of the field of Speech-Language Pathology will be considered. The successful candidate will also contribute to a division culture of collegiality, collaboration, and trust; will promote and demonstrate innovation and resourcefulness, and will seek to promote partnerships within the department, community, and other related programs. Active engagement in departmental, university, and professional service activities is also expected.

Qualifications :

Applicants must meet the following criteria for consideration:

• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology or eligible for CCC-SLP;
• West Virginia Speech-Language Pathology license or eligible for a West Virginia Speech-Language Pathology license;

All qualifications must be met by the time of the appointment.

The WVU Health Sciences Center includes the Schools of Pharmacy, Medicine, Dentistry, Public Health and Nursing. Morgantown is within easy traveling distance of Washington, DC, to the east, Pittsburgh, PA, to the north, and Cleveland and Columbus, OH, to the northwest. First consideration will be given to applications received by December 10, 2021 .

The appointment date is negotiable but would begin on or around January 4, 2022, with the goal to have the successful candidate identified no later than January 10, 2022. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
