Job Description
The Associate Director of Marketing, Communications & Events for the Center for Business Analytics (CBA) will oversee, develop, and execute the communication and marketing plan for CBA. This plan is geared to recruiting students for the MSBA-BA program, recruitment and retention of corporate sponsors, development of corporate donors, outreach to alumni and friends, and general promotion and awareness of CBA activities and the MSBA-BA program. This position will lead two graduate assistants (GAs) and serve as the primary interface to the PRISM organization.
In addition to communications and marketing, the Associate Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of symposia, conferences, executive and continuing education. They will work with existing university organizations to assess viability, location, and content of these events to facilitate the advancement of the CBA mission.
This position will report to the Executive Director of the CBA and will work as part of a small, integrated team in CBA. The Associate Director will have the demonstrated ability to work independently across multiple organizations. They will interact with students, sponsors, executive board members, PCOB faculty and staff, and CBA donors.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field
• Extensive background and work experience in marketing and communications with significant experience across social media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic marketing and communications plans including outreach strategies
• Evidence of strong writing skills
• Familiarity with social networking tools as well as word processing, image processing tools, CRM tools, and related programs (Adobe, Canva, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high visibility efforts simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to execute as part of small, tightly integrated team
• Demonstrated ability to develop, plan and execute events
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in higher education
• Experience representing an organization at events and to external groups
• Master’s degree in business, communications, marketing, or related field
• Video/photography skills
