Job Summary:

Under the direction and supervision of the SMPH Shared Services Financial Manager, the Financial Specialist II provides financial management, transaction processing, and administrative support. This position is the main resource for departmental activities relating to expense reimbursements, purchasing, monitoring, tracking, and analyzing financial transactions, along with a variety of other financial tasks. The incumbent provides support for the department administrator, faculty, staff, and students.

Required

Associate's Degree or higher preferred

Qualifications:

- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to write and communicate effectively are preferred.
- Ability to manage many detailed projects simultaneously under tight deadlines preferred.
- The position is expected to collaborate and maintain effective working relationships with the manager, department administrator, faculty, staff, co-workers, and vendors.
- Education or training in business, accounting, or finance preferred.
- Experience in Microsoft Office software, such as Excel and Word preferred.
- Working knowledge of WISER, UW purchasing, and other UW financial systems preferred.
