The University of Virginia's College at Wise invites applications for an Assistant Director of Annual Giving. The College is seeking an energetic individual who values the institution and has the skills to effectively communicate both in-person and through print, electronic and social media to key constituents. The successful candidate will have the ability to cultivate relationships with alumni and friends and engage them in the life of the College. In addition, the assistant director will identify and engage new supporters and cultivate their support of the College. The assistant director will manage all aspects of an annual giving program. This position is responsible for building a pipeline of annual support for the College's general operating needs and special projects; developing annual giving messages; inspiring alumni giving campaigns; instilling a culture of giving among the student body; and working in collaboration with the Vice Chancellor for Advancement and other advancement colleagues on various fundraising projects and advancement related activities.

A Bachelor's degree is required; preference for Communications, Business and Marketing majors. Candidates must possess a high degree of initiative, integrity, excellent communication and writing skills. The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential. Evening and weekend work, and travel, are required. Most travel is within a day’s drive of the College with occasional overnight travel to visit with supporters.
