The Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track position in sociology of race beginning in August 2022. We expect to hire at the assistant professor level but are open to considering outstanding candidates at other ranks. We seek a teacher-scholar with a PhD (or in the final stages of completing a PhD) in sociology by the start of the appointment. The successful candidate will be prepared to teach courses in the sociology of race, race in comparative/historical perspective, and/or the sociology of the Black Experience in America. Furthermore, the successful candidate will need to teach Introduction to Sociology and be expected to contribute to other departmental required courses, including the senior seminar, and either methods or theory. The successful candidate will develop a strong body of scholarship in their field of specialization.
