The Lewis and Clark College Department of Psychology invites applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Developmental Psychology to begin Fall 2022.
QualificationsWe seek candidates whose research and teaching complement the department's strengths. Expertise in cognitive development, social cognition, and/or adolescence and aging are of particular interest. Candidates are expected to develop an active research program that incorporates undergraduate collaborators in a small, liberal arts setting. Excellent teaching credentials, an appreciation of the role of research at an undergraduate institution, and a Ph.D. in a relevant field are essential. The normal teaching load is five courses per academic year, and the candidate will regularly teach Introduction to Psychology, courses in development across the lifespan, and an upper-level specialty course of their choice. In addition, the candidate will periodically teach in the College's general education program.
Application InstructionsA complete application must include: (1) cover letter of application which includes statements of research interests and teaching experience, (2) description of how the applicant’s teaching, research, and/or work in the campus community will contribute to a culture of inclusion and campus diversity, (3) statement of teaching philosophy that incorporates evidence of teaching effectiveness (including teaching evaluations if available), (4) curriculum vitae, (5) examples of scholarship (published articles and/or works in progress), (6) three letters of recommendation (uploaded separately by the referees). All materials should be addressed to Brian Detweiler-Bedell, Chair, Psychology Search Committee and must be submitted via Interfolio ( http://apply.interfolio.com/94433 ).
