Stanford University Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (DAPER) invites inquiries, nominations and applications for an experienced, collaborative and creative leader to serve as the Senior Associate Athletics Director (SAAD) for Human Resources and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).

Stanford University Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (DAPER) invites inquiries, nominations and applications for an experienced leader to serve as the Senior Associate Athletics Director (SAAD) for Human Resources and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).

The SAAD will work under the general supervision of the Executive Associate Athletics Director & CFO with joint reporting to the Athletics Director for the position’s DEI responsibilities. This person will oversee the full range of human resources activities and a current staff of five HR professionals. The SAAD will also lead the DEI efforts for the Department in coordination with the university and the PAC-12 conference. The SAAD will serve as a key member of the DAPER’s Leadership Team and help set the strategic direction of the department. Stanford's athletics program competes in the Pac-12 Conference and supports 36 intercollegiate athletic teams and approximately 850 student-athletes. DAPER also encompasses the university’s recreation and wellness initiatives as well as the Stanford Golf Course and employs over 375 full-time coaches and staff.

The SAAD for Human Resources and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation is a newly created position and will serve as the chief human resources and DEI officer for the department. The ideal SAAD will be service oriented with an in-depth understanding of HR best practices. The SAAD is expected to be knowledgeable and proficient in DEI content and is responsible for providing strategic direction for the department's DEI efforts focused on student-athletes, coaches and staff. The SAAD should be highly visible and active throughout DAPER with an appreciation and understanding of the ever changing and competitive student-athlete experience.
