Essential Functions: Provides leadership in strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the information and technology systems for the university. Facilitates communication between staff, management, vendors, and other technology resources within the university. Oversees the back-office computer operations of administrative and academic systems, including the local and wide-area networks. Responsible for the management of multiple information and communications systems and projects including voice, data, video and imaging. In collaboration with campus stakeholders, designs, implements, and evaluates the systems that support end users in the use of computer hardware and software. Collaborates with campus stakeholders to implement user-training programs. Oversees and evaluates system security and back up procedures. Supervises the Network Manager, Systems Manager, Academic Support Manager, and Administrative Information Systems Manager. Responsible for budget planning and expenditures for IT budget including performing cost/benefit analysis on technology resources and developing strategic plan for maintaining an up-to-date computing environment to support multiple functions of the university.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited institution in information technology management or computer information systems or an MBA, with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering or related field. Three to five years of recent experience in a complex IT department and a minimum of five years of progressive management experience working in IT management or comparable management position. 

Preferred Qualifications: Substantive and relevant experience in a higher education environment that includes budget management and rapid growth. Evidence of strong customer relations management skills. Substantive and relevant experience with: managing complex platform transformations; engagement with funded research; working with restricted (ITAR/Classified/Proprietary) data; managing risk and cybersecurity; and cross-institutional collaboration.
