Assistant Lecturer (holding the title of Project Manager (Capacity Building Administration)) in the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 509011) (to commence on January 1, 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, and with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

Applicants should possess a good Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health, Psychology, Behavioral Health, Counseling, Public Health or a related discipline, with at least 3 years’ experience in conducting end-of-life care (EoLC) or elderly care professional training for medical or social work sector and/or related public education in Hong Kong. They should have an excellent written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese). Those with strong reputation in psycho-social and communication aspects of EoLC and knowledge on curriculum design and e-learning on EoLC would be an advantage.

The appointee will work in the Jockey Club End-of-Life Community Care Project (JCECC) under the Faculty of Social Sciences. The Project, started in 2016, aimed at developing and evaluating an innovative community end-of-life care model which ultimately improves the quality of life of patients and families touched by terminal illness. The appointee is expected to oversee the administration of trainings for professionals which might be converted to components of postgraduate programmes in future, and to provide administrative support to the development of an e-learning programme for volunteers. He/She is also expected to evaluate and improve training effectiveness with innovative pedagogies; supervise other training officers; and perform any other duties as assigned.
