Position Summary:
The Department of Biology at Susquehanna University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in biology with training in the general area of microbiology, cell and molecular biology, bioinformatics or epidemiology beginning in August 2022. Demonstrated excellence, or evidence of the potential to excel, in undergraduate teaching, advising and research mentoring is essential, as is evidence of a strong commitment to pedagogies that foster diversity and inclusion. Teaching duties will include microbiology lecture and lab, upper-level courses in an area of specialization such as microbiology, molecular biology, bioinformatics or epidemiology, and science courses for non-majors. The successful candidate be expected to develop a compelling research program, publish in peer-reviewed scholarly sources, and actively mentor student capstone research projects. Institutional and departmental service are also required. The candidate's research interests should align well with student interest and be able to take advantage of the research facilities currently provided in the Natural Science Center.
Required Qualifications:
An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in biology or a related field is required by date of appointment.
