The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, seeks two full-time
tenure-track faculty members at the assistant professor level with
a specialty in health administration. While topical areas are open,
we are particularly interested in scholars in the areas of health
law and ethics, management, and corporate compliance. Focus
on disparities of health care provision is a plus. The faculty
members will teach primarily in the CAHME-accredited Masters
of Health Administration (MHA) program; other instructional duties
may include the undergraduate health administration program, and/or
related graduate and undergraduate programs in the Bloustein School
of Planning and Public Policy as dictated by competency and
interest. The ideal candidate is required to show clear
signs that she/he/they will:
- Have a doctorate or the equivalent professional degree in a discipline related to health administration. The position is open to a diverse range of disciplines including health administration, law, management/leadership, economics, health services, or organizational behavior. The candidate will have a completed doctorate by June 1, 2022.
- Be establishing a research profile of refereed research in high-impact journals and through conference presentations.
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to secure peer-reviewed external grant funds and the ability to be a team leader on funded research supporting and supervising doctoral students and postdoctoral associates.
- Demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching, with knowledge of inclusive and active teaching practices, as well as being facile in competency-based teaching and assessment.
- Demonstrate ability to network with external stakeholders and to communicate with the public via social media and other sources.
- Have experience working with community-based health organizations.
