Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Associate Dean for Administration and Finance and working closely with Associate Dean for Research and Innovation, the Biostatistician will collaborate with investigators on research projects with responsibility for analysis and presentation of project data. The Biostatistician will assist in statistical design consultation and provide data management and data analysis. This position will contribute to the application of statistical methods, power calculation and sample size, to advance scientific goals and the likelihood of funding of various projects in
the Bouve College of Health Sciences submitted to federal organizations,
corporations and foundations.
The Biostatistician is responsible for statistical analyses and programming for research projects. The Biostatistician will provide statistical support for the production and review of both derived analysis datasets and statistical outputs, and assist in the development of statistical analysis plans, including power calculation, randomization schemes, and sample size determination. This position will assist in research design and data management review and consultation manuscripts, grant applications and requests for proposals pre and post-award.
This position will be responsible for providing statistical expertise to support researchers at the College; this may include but is not be limited to quantitative and qualitative analyses, mixed methods, clinical trials, meta-analyses, systematic reviews, observational studies, surveys. In addition, this position will contribute to teaching existing statistical methods courses as well as developing new courses as needed.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in biostatistics or related field required. PhD preferred. A minimum of 4-6 years' experience in a similar role required. Some experience with clinical trials is preferred. Must possess knowledge of quantitative and qualitative-statistics, biostatistics, big-data analytics, epidemiological statistics, and preferably network and data science. Must have demonstrated skills and the ability to develop statistical analysis plans, determine power calculation and sample size analysis, as well as analyze
and interpret statistical data and provide final reports. Experience working with health-related data is preferred. Proficiency with SAS, SPSS, R, Cluster Computing, Tableau and other reporting and statistical software is required.
Must have strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently, good time-management skills for balancing multiple projects in parallel, strong self-initiative and proven record to deliver project efficiently in a timely manner.
