Instructions for Applicants:

To be considered for employment at Willamette University, please complete our online employment application. Your application and all required attachments -- listed at the bottom of the page -- must be submitted for each individual job post that you are interested in applying for. Position Summary:
The Executive Development Center at the Atkinson Graduate School of Management invites applications for a part-time faculty pool to teach Project, Portfolio, or Program Management, or Business Analysis classes to government employees. The candidate must have a current Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate and have both “real-world” project management and classroom teaching experience for adult learners.

An ideal candidate will have extensive business experience, as well as academic grounding, so classes are practical, impactful and consistent with current PMI standards.

Traditional classroom, face-to-face delivery is the standard and primarily held in Salem, Oregon.

Daily schedules are typically 8:30am to 4:30pm with a one hour lunch and two fifteen minute breaks. Instructor should arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of each class to set up, test technology and answer student questions.

JOB DESCSRIPTION

Instructors will be part of a qualified pool to teach topical modules, virtually or in-person, in an established program. Number of teaching days will depend on demand and availability. Working with curriculum developers, the candidate will deliver highly interactive, engaging and relevant content. We use the “describe - demonstrate - do” technique. The instructor describes the concept or tool, uses an example to demonstrate how to use it, and then coaches class teams as they apply it themselves in an exercise.

We aspire to continuous improvement of our teaching and student learning. We expect all instructors to propose innovative improvements to syllabi, course materials, and pedagogy, and incorporate fresh and creative teaching materials that help students learn and retain knowledge and skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated teaching experience in the fields of Project, Program or Portfolio Management or Business Analysis

Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP Certified

All University positions require that candidates submit to a criminal conviction record check prior to hire. Conviction does not automatically preclude candidates from being hired. Nature of conviction will be considered relative to the duties of the position.

You will need to upload the following two documents as part of your application materials in the "My Experience" section labeled Resume:
  • Cover letter addressing the required/desired qualifications and presenting any other applicant characteristics which deserve emphasis
  • Current Resume

Incomplete applications will not be considered.
