This is a full-time benefits eligible position. Merchandises course materials (textbooks, access codes, course packets) for distribution to enrolled students each semester to align with each semester’s schedule of courses, including placement of shelf labels that contain information about each title and the courses associated with each book title. Using the in-store inventory management system, verifies that the correct title has been ordered, received and available for distribution each semester.

Transfers course materials to/from the MIC store for courses taught onsite in Lee’s Summit and updates the in-store inventory management system.

Prepares textbook titles identified for circulation in the university’s textbook rental program including assignment of serial numbers to individual copies of textbooks. Reconciles rental inventory against customer transaction records (rented and returned) ensuring the integrity of available inventory for customer distribution.

Collaborates with the Assistant Director, Course Materials & Store Operations to enter and update textbook adoptions each semester, taking note of those titles and inventory that will not be used the following semester. Assembles a list of titles removed from circulation for future semesters and prepares them for return to vendors and for advertising non-returnable inventory on the wholesale market.

Actively participates in the execution of textbook buyback/rental returns each semester and the daily reconciliation of purchases from customers.

Collaborates and supports other functional units of University Store to provide a positive customer experience; i.e. assisting cashiers, reconciling of accounts, etc. Education & Formal Training Associate's degree (Specify field(s) of study below), Education/Experience substitution (specify) Other Education & Formal Training
Associate’s degree in management, accounting, business or related field required.

Bachelor’s degree in management, accounting, business or related field preferred.

Education may be substituted for experience or experience substituted for education based on the following equivalencies: AA = 2 years; BA/BS = 4 years; MA/MA = 6 years; PhD = 8 years. Computer Skills Word-Processing, Spreadsheet Experience
One (1) year retail or inventory management experience required.

One (1) year supervisory experience preferred.
