Position Details

Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
Duties will include teaching statistics/quantitative psychology and research methods courses at the undergraduate level. Academics – Teach 4 undergraduate courses, or a minimum of 12 credit hours, per semester (with a possibility of teaching additional courses during the summer, if desired, and the potential for teaching graduate courses if the candidate meets the qualifications to do so); Present a working knowledge of relevant curricula; Mentor undergraduate students, as appropriate;
Other duties include helping establish an online presence, as necessary, and participating in service and collaborate in research across the department, college, and university levels.
Candidates must be committed to a student-centered approach and have a passion for teaching and mentoring a diverse student population.
Educational Requirements for the Position
Masters or Ph.D. degree in Psychology – Candidates must at least have a Master’s degree in Psychology, although a preference will be given for candidates with a Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited university prior to the start date. Candidates must have at least a Master’s degree conferred by the start date of the position. Ideal candidates will also have teaching experience in Psychology courses focused on statistics and research methods. Experience Required for the Position
Candidates are expected to have previous experience and education in statistics and research methods. An additional area of specialty for teaching at the undergraduate level is welcome, but there is potential need for individuals with training/experience in physiological or social psychology. Instructors with training and/or experience in online instruction are encouraged to apply, although the primary teaching responsibilities are expected to be for face-to-face instruction. Other skills that are expected from a qualified candidate include, but are not limited to: ability to be a team member, commitment to student success, and excellent verbal/written/organizational skills.
