The Department of Psychology and Philosophy in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Sam Houston State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in its APA -accredited doctoral program in Clinical Psychology to begin in the Fall 2022 semester.

Duties will include conducting and supervising research, supervising theses and dissertations, supervising clinical practica, and teaching in the graduate (masters and doctoral) and undergraduate programs in the department. Candidates with demonstrated potential for extramural funding are encouraged to apply. Candidates must be committed to a student-centered approach and have a passion for teaching and mentoring a diverse student population. Educational Requirements for the Position
Candidates must have a Doctoral degree from an APA -accredited program, and must be eligible for licensure in the State of Texas (applicants who are ABD will be considered, but the doctoral degree must be conferred by the start date of the position). Experience Required for the Position
The doctoral program has an emphasis area of forensic psychology; candidates with expertise at the intersection of psychology and law are especially welcomed. In addition, the department is very interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: research and practice with children and adolescents, research and practice related to diversity and inclusion, and/or research and practice related to neuropsychology, particularly neuropsychological assessment. Sam Houston State University is located in Huntsville in the beautiful piney woods of East Texas approximately one hour north of the ethnically and culturally diverse Houston metropolitan area.
