Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
This is a 75% teaching and 25% research appointment with service activities required for promotion, merit pay increases and tenure. Primary teaching and research responsibilities will be in the discipline of Equine Science with courses in Selection and Evaluation, Behavior and Training, Nutrition and Reproduction. Teaching responsibilities may also include other animal science or related courses as needed. Ability to teach traditional and online courses is expected. The successful applicant will contribute to our growing undergraduate research program and competitive teams.

Nine month appointment. Educational Requirements for the Position
An earned Doctorate in Equine Science, or closely related field is required. ABD candidates may be considered. Evidence of actual or potential success in university teaching, research and service. Experience Required for the Position
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. Must have a strong commitment to undergraduate education and interdisciplinary collaboration. Must have demonstrated previous and current equine industry involvement, proficiency in equine training and western riding with university level teaching of equine science courses.
