The Bloom laboratory (the Repligators) in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Florida is seeking a postdoctoral associate to work on a newly funded project to study a bacterial helicase, YoaA, that is involved in rescuing replication forks that have been stalled by DNA damage. The main goals are to define the biochemical activities of the helicase needed for rescuing stalled replication forks. In a collaboration between our group and a genetics laboratory, the postdoctoral associate will work to define cellular functions of this newly discovered helicase and to reconstitute repair pathways in vitro.
