This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track graduate faculty position (75% teaching) at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interest and ability to teach courses in clinical exercise physiology and other classes dependent on expertise and department needs. Though not required, preference will be given to candidates who can also teach courses in the areas of human anatomy and exercise physiology. Summer teaching is required with this position. Anticipated appointment date: August 22, 2022.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and teach the equivalent of 12 credits in the Clinical Exercise Physiology (CEP) Master’s degree program. 
  • Advise graduate students.
  • Engage in research or other scholarly activity.
  • Provide service to the department, college, university, community, and profession. 

 

Qualifications Required:
  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Exercise Science or a closely related field. 
  • Demonstrated ability to teach desired courses in CEP MS major. (Clinical exercise physiology, ECG, etc.)
  • Demonstrated potential for research and scholarly activity in clinical exercise physiology.
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience  in a clinical cardiac rehabilitation program.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise and mentor graduate students.
  • Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to diverse student populations and ability to contribute to the University’s commitment to enhancing student awareness and appreciation of diverse ethnic and cultural heritages.

 

Qualifications Preferred:

  • ACSM or AACVPR clinical exercise physiology certification.
  • A minimum of two (2) years teaching experience at the college level.
