Portland Community College is seeking an equity-minded, highly-skilled, student-centered Senior Level Office Assistant to support the Division of Academic and Career Pathways Guidance. The individual should be comfortable serving as the first point of contact alongside a team of skilled office assistants who provide administrative support to students, faculty, and staff in an open-office setting. The successful candidate will provide high-level administrative support to managers who possess competing tasks and responsibilities. They will have in-depth technical knowledge and understanding of the department’s functions, policies, and procedures to ensure the optimal productivity of the division. A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate and translate complex policies and information to diverse audiences with a high degree of autonomy and discretion.

The employee in this position will work closely with the leadership team of the Academic and Career Pathway Guidance division and report to the Director of Advising and Career Services.

· Demonstrated experience working in post-secondary environments, or an area with similar equivalence and support services for underrepresented students.

· Demonstrated experience with technical knowledge, student information systems, triaging challenging situations, and timely communication.

· Experience assisting students seeking support, in need of a referral, and guidance around student resources.

· Demonstrated ability to successfully develop positive working relationships with colleagues and be a strong collaborator.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).



High school diploma or equivalent.

Five years of office assistant experience (college or business school training may be substituted for up to two years of the experience requirement).

Experience, education or training in the department or program area of assignment is highly desirable.

Position Grade 18 Starting Salary Expectations The first two steps of the range are: $43,297 to $44,596 per year. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity. Position Grade Salary Range $43297 to $69480 Annual Salary FTE 1 PCC Benefits

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Positions in this job family typically work in an office setting but may be assigned more physical duties such as transporting office supplies and equipment. Position involves sitting for extended periods of time while working at a computer terminal. Some positions may involve limited local travel.
