Position Summary

The University at Buffalo (UB) School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences ( SPPS ) Department of Pharmacy Practice is seeking a clinical-track (qualified rank), 12-month faculty member at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank. This position will hold a .5 FTE faculty position with UB in conjunction with a .5 Clinical Pharmacy Manager position funded and paid through Montefiore Medical Center for a full time, 1 FTE obligation for the candidate chosen.

The faculty member will establish a downstate hub of the SPPS at Montefiore Medical Center. Establishment of this hub is intended to improve recruitment of high-quality students from the downstate region and to serve as the school’s primary downstate experiential education site. The faculty member will also partner with the school’s Center for Health Outcomes, Pharmacoinformatics and Epidemiology (cHOPE) to advance the research mission of the SPPS .

Responsibilities:

Didactic and experiential teaching activities: The faculty member will provide didactic teaching in required and elective courses as agreed to with the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice, will coordinate courses in the PharmD Program, will coordinate introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences at the site (Montefiore Medical Center), and will participate in curriculum planning and assessment, as indicated.

Scholarship:
The faculty member will advance the research/scholarly mission of the UB SPPS . He/she will develop an independent research program in his/her area of expertise and will actively collaborate with clinical and/or tenured/tenure-track SPPS faculty.

Service:
The faculty member will serve the Department of Pharmacy Practice, SPPS, and UB (e.g., through active participation on committees) as agreed to with the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice. This will include, but is not limited to, active involvement in downstate recruitment initiatives, attendance at department/school faculty/staff meetings, and participation on the school’s Admissions and Experiential Education Faculty Advisory Committees. Active involvement in professional organizations is strongly encouraged.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications include: a Doctor of Pharmacy degree; a minimum of one year of postdoctoral training.

Candidates with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree must be licensed, or eligible for licensure in NY State.
Preferred Qualifications

Postgraduate Year 2 Specialty Residency or Fellowship; BCPS or other BPS certification.

Candidates must have a track record of research support and peer reviewed publications commensurate with appointment faculty rank. Candidates whose experience is commensurate with associate or full professor rank are preferred.
