Assistant Professor of Economics

Rockhurst University invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor of economics. This is a 9-month position that begins in August 2022. We seek applicants with a broad training in economics, prepared to teach courses to both undergraduates and graduate students in a variety of programs. The candidate will teach 18 credit hours per academic year in addition to research and service responsibilities. Courses taught will vary based on the candidate's experience and college needs, but the candidate must be prepared to teach undergraduate macro and microeconomics, and graduate level courses in competitive analysis. Applications from candidates with expertise in public policy, health care, data analytics, or sustainability are preferred but not required.

This position is housed in the College of Business, Influence, and Information Analysis, home to the Helzberg School of Management. The Helzberg programs are accredited internationally through AACSB, representing the top 5% of business schools. Both undergraduate and graduate degrees have been recognized as top 25 programs by U.S. News and World Report in recent years.

Qualifications:

 

  • PhD in economics by August 2022
  • Demonstrated potential to publish research in relevant academic outlets
  • Documented experience teaching courses in the field

Review of applications will begin December 1 until a pool of candidates is identified. Short listed candidates will be interviewed via Zoom. Finalists will be required to conduct on campus interviews.
