Buffalo State, State University of New York, seeks candidates for the position of Assistant Professor

The Engineering Department at SUNY Buffalo State seeks candidates for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Industrial Technology program. The successful candidate is expected to have substantial industrial (or related) experience demonstrating significant performance in professional practice, and to demonstrate a commitment to the enrichment of student experience with practical application, both in the classroom and in the guidance of student projects. Applicants are expected to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, to provide mentoring to a diverse population of students in this program, and to contribute to institutional service. This position will support delivery of coursework in CAD/CAM, manufacturing, quality, safety, and other related areas of industrial technology.

Required Qualifications:

Earned doctorate in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Technology or closely-related field; Degree conferral must be on or before August 31, 2022.  

Substantial engineering/technology (or related) experience demonstrating significant responsibilities and accomplishments in industrial-related and/or supervisory positions.

 
Ability to teach courses in CAD/CAM, manufacturing, quality, safety, and other related areas of Industrial technology.

Possess the versatility to offer courses in multiple areas of industrial technology.

Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively, in oral written, and digital forms.

Possess the interpersonal skills to engage students from a variety of social and educational backgrounds in both classroom and laboratory settings.

Possess a record of scholarly accomplishments which could include publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, patents and patent applications, technical reports, and others.

Preferred Qualifications:

Lean six/sigma certification (from ASQ or ATMAE).

 
Demonstrated teaching expertise in academic and/or industrial settings.

Professional Engineer (PE) license.
