The Computer Science Electrical Engineering Department in the School of Computing and Engineering

Job Description

The Computer Science Electrical Engineering department is seeking applicants for a (benefit eligible) unranked non-tenure track teaching faculty position at the instructor level.

This Instructor will teach 4 courses per semester with an enrollment projection of 60 students per section.

The ideal candidates will have expertise in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the following areas: Fundamentals of Computer Science; Computer Science Essentials; Computer Science Principles; Programming in a Structured Language like Python, Java, JavaScript, and C++; Database Management; Computer Literacy; Problem Solving; Algorithms; Software Engineering; Artificial Intelligence; Data Science; Deep Learning; Machine Learning; and Natural Language Processing.

The successful candidate will be expected to 1) have a strong commitment to quality undergraduate / graduate engineering education; 2) teach courses in the undergraduate / graduate CSEE program; 3) maintain an outstanding record of education and professional leadership; 4) engage in department, school, and/or university service activities appropriate to the position and 5) advance the goals and strategic plan of SCE and UMKC.

Prior college or university level teaching experience in Computer Science or related areas at a 4-year college or university in the USA or an equivalent accredited international university.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must hold a PhD or Master’s Degree and tested industry experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering. ABDs will be considered.

Full Time/Part Time

Full-time, benefit-eligible academic position to start January 1, 2022.

Salary

Commensurate with credentials and experience.
