Under general supervision develops and executes a comprehensive marketing and communications plan, elevating TSU’s brand in multiple ways, both internally and externally. Ensures that current and prospective students, faculty, staff, alumni are communicated with in a customized way across many platforms. Essential Duties Summary
  • Develops and distributes internal and external communications on behalf of TSU administration and executive-level administrators, including emails, memos, publications, web-based, electronic, social media and print communications.
  • Serves as primary spokesperson for the university and oversee all media relations activities/strategies.
  • Oversees all TSU branding, establishing standards for the university brand, and enforcing compliance among all stakeholders.
  • Manages the TSU website, ensuring that the Content Management System is utilized by all departments and content managers; promotes TSU marketing on the website in appropriate places.
  • Directs the marketing and advertising for the university, promoting all aspects of TSU to prospective students via mediums such as radio, billboards, paid social media, television and other forms of communication.
  • Oversees all university-wide special event marketing/communications, including homecoming, State of the University/Tiger Awards, Maroon and Gray Affair, and other major events.
  • Oversees the Marketing and Communications budget, ensures that all necessary resources are made available to achieve the department’s goals and strategies.
  • Handles all personnel/management issues relating to the team members within Marketing and Communications.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree or higher. Master’s degree preferred. Required Licensing/Certification
Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
