Position Title Senior Student Account Specialist Overview
Provide administrative support to the office of Financial Services/Student Accounts Essential Duties:
1. Respond to questions posed via telephone and in-person from students and parents often discussing sensitive and confidential information. Monitor and reply to messages and inquiries to the Bursar email account. Assist them in resolving issues regarding their account including financial aid, Nelnet payment plans, etc. Process departmental deposits and student payments as needed.

2. Process ROTC, Outside Scholarship, Third-Party billing, and payments. Process payments through the military billing site as needed. This includes but is not limited to, logging the pending scholarships into the Banner student system, processing checks as they arrive, and billing those OSCH and Third-Party payments that require billing.

3. Process tuition payments made through the SCE office on a daily basis. Track Cashier Sessions to confirm each student listed has paid in full. If no payment is included, confirm that the information provided by SCE (GA, tuition remission, financial aid, etc.) is correct and complete.

4. Coordinate with Student Account Specialists that all sessions are completed and all follow-up is complete. Gather a list of students to be dropped for non-payment each week (confirming that each cashier has made sufficient effort to contact students or parents) and work with the office of Registrar’s office to drop students for non-payment.

5. Act as the first level of problem resolution for parents and students. Assist other Student Account staff members in resolving more complex issues. Marginal Duties:
Perform all other duties as may be required. Education and Experience Required
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s Degree in a business-related field from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Three to five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Outlook with a proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Banner/Ellucian system software preferred by not required
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills are also required.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and prioritize assignments while juggling multiple tasks.
  • Spanish speaking/bilingual preferred

  • Finger dexterity is required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard
