Job Summary
The Engaged-Learning Specialist will promote students' engagement on campus and in the community by fostering high-impact practices such as service-learning and community-based learning, research opportunities, internships and shadowing experiences as well as Eportfolios. This position centralizes information about disparate efforts and works to bridge the needs of the College and those of community partners. The Specialist supports faculty in implementing high-impact practices in their teaching and supports students completing engaged learning activities and reflecting on these experiences as they build a record of their learning. The Engaged Learning Specialist is responsible for the assessment of these strategies to ensure their effectiveness. Focusing on engaged-learning and high-impact-practices position the specialist to support honors students' completion of exploratory requirements and advise honors students' organizations (PTK and HSA).
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in education, liberal arts, sciences or other relevant field of study
Three years experience in an educational or training environment coordinating or developing program(s)
Experience with service learning, undergraduate research or undergraduate leadership
Excellent verbal, written and oral communication skills
Ability to operate a personal computer and associated software
Ability to drive an 11-passenger van and have a valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in education, liberal arts, sciences or other relevant field of study
Teaching experience in higher education
