Position Responsibilities:

VCU seeks to advance knowledge and student success. The Department of Rehabilitation Counseling seeks a qualified person to teach a master’s level counseling internship course.
The Adjunct Professor will have strong clinical supervision skills, a clearly articulated approach to the clinical supervision of counseling students, strong teaching skills, knowledge of the use of technology in clinical supervision and instruction, and excellent communication skills. The Adjunct Professor will work under the direction of the Department Clinical Coordinator, will use established syllabi, will be expected to maintain necessary documentation as outlined in the RMHC Clinical Handbook, and meet regularly with the Department Clinical Coordinator.

Required Qualifications:

● Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment, or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.

●Ability to develop and deliver graduate level coursework.

●Required: Masters in Rehabilitation and/or Mental Health Counseling (or other related counseling master’s degree)

●Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia with good standing

●At least five years of experience working in the community in a Mental Health and/or Rehabilitation Counseling setting

●Experience providing clinical supervision to counseling interns

●Content expertise: Counseling Theories, Case Conceptualization, Counseling Intervention Design and Delivery, Trauma-informed Care Concepts, Models of Clinical Supervision

●Must have completed a full 20-hour supervision training as required by the VA Board of Counseling Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills

●Demonstrates critical thinking and organizational skills



Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Rehabilitation Counseling (CRC)
Experience working in instruction/curriculum at graduate level.

Salary Range: $5,250.00
