As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent
many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University invites
applications for its Advancement Operations Specialist in the
Office of Institutional Advancement. Under the direction of the
Director of Advancement Operations, the specialist is a part of the
operations team. The Advancement Operations Specialist will promote
our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by producing lists
from the system, overseeing the management of the endowed
scholarship process, and supporting all reporting for the
department. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, promoting unity in diversity, and integrating the Catholic Franciscan intellectual traditions in courses, programs, and services.
- Facilitates all regular reporting efforts including:
- Progress to goals for various initiatives
- Monthly reporting on all funds
- Fiscal-year reporting on all funds
- Serve as the liaison to the finance office
- Manages the endowed scholarship process including:
- Annual reporting to donors/honorees
- Recognition of donors/honorees through the website, plaques, donor walls, etc.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with the financial aid office and partner with enrollment colleagues.
- Track gifts and eligibility to award scholarship
- Manage the stewardship management tool within the Raiser’s edge database
- Cross-trains with the Advancement Services Specialist to ensure duties are completed during time off
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Advancement Operations, the Executive Director of Advancement Relations, or the Vice President of Institutional Advancement.
- A college degree (bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite of products; strong experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Database experience/familiarity (Raiser’s Edge experience preferred)
- Fundraising/advancement/development experience.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and direction.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commit to collegiality and collaborative decision-making.
- Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- The ability to work both independently and in a team environment, often with limited direction.
- Professionalism and high ethical standards for maintaining confidential information.
