Job Description Summary / TWC Summary
Provide effective instruction for courses in one of four departments (Curriculum and Instruction, Counseling, Educational Administration and Health, Kinesiology and Sport Studies) in the College of Education. Teaching responsibility for core related curriculum courses in the discipline. Contribute to the department’s graduate and undergraduate teaching mission. Secure opportunities for the department to interact with community in various initiatives and promotions. Demonstrate a commitment to service on university, college and departmental committees. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and congeniality in working with diverse students, faculty and staff.
Essential Duties Summary
Successfully teach core-curriculum courses at the Graduate and Undergraduate levels. Commitment to working with students related to academic matters and advising students in the department. Demonstrated effective teaching that encourages active learning. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and congeniality in working with diverse student, faculty and staff. Demonstrate a commitment to service on university, college and departmental committees. Participating in professional activities including internal and external conferences and seminars. Other duties as assigned by the Chairperson.

Education
An earned doctoral degree from an accredited four-year college/university required in the discipline or related field. Certification and licensure in areas that require licensure (Interdisciplinary studies, Educational Administration, Athletic training) preferred.

Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of the content being taught.
Work Experience
Preferred experience in teaching in higher education with demonstrated success.
