Gannon University's School of Engineering and Computer Science seeks an energetic tenure-track Assistant Professor of Industrial and Robotics Engineering.  The appointment for this position begins in August 2022. Preferred candidates' expertise should be in the areas of either Operations Research, Simulation, and/or Healthcare Systems Engineering, or a closely-related field. The candidate should be able to demonstrate experience in the application of these knowledge bases to areas relating to human-machine interaction and artificial intelligence. The successful candidate will provide a dynamic and innovative classroom and lab experience for students, in addition to designing new courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly-motivated candidate to join a new and fully ABET-accredited program, develop creative approaches to student engagement in the classroom and community, develop novel research agenda using state-of-the-art research resources in our labs, and leverage on existing collaborations with healthcare partners to foster research within the university and our immediate community. The College of Engineering and Business (CEB) promotes a strong entrepreneurial mindset. There is also an opportunity to interact with regional entrepreneurs through the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Erie Technology Incubator (ETI). Faculty can develop their own projects and make use of services from SBDC and ETI.  Qualified candidates will be expected to engage in scholarly activities in keeping with the Boyer Model of Scholarship as is appropriate to the application and receipt of tenure and promotion at Gannon.  Requirements include a Ph.D. or comparable degree (completed by August 1, 2022) in Industrial and Robotics Engineering or a closely related field. Excellent communication skills are required.
