Job Summary

The Clinic Director is responsible for overseeing the clinical, administrative, and budgetary processes, providing clinical services to clinic patients, providing supervision to clinic staff, and implementing strategic initiatives to grow and innovate. The WELL Clinic is a specialty outpatient clinic delivering evidence-based treatment for eating disorders and for weight control. The Clinic is part of the Center for Weight, Eating, and Lifestyle Science (WELL Center; drexel.edu/wellcenter).

The position can be part-time or full-time, and includes handling the day-to-day operations, and developing and implementing procedures in compliance with university policy and professional standards. The amount of direct service (if any) will change depending on future clinic growth (e.g., number of clinicians/active patients) and whether the director is part or full-time.

Essential Functions
  • Manage Clinic finances, including systems of patient and insurance billing
  • Develop annual budget and refine Clinic financial model as needed
  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of WELL Clinic administration, working in collaboration with the Director of the WELL Center
  • Create and refine Clinic procedures
  • Manage, lead, and mentor Clinic administrative staff. Oversee the work of the administrative coordinator, including patient/staff communications, scheduling, and billing
  • Oversee the hiring and training of clinicians. Manage workload of clinicians, assigning patients as appropriate for clinicians. Recruit additional part-time and/or full-time clinicians to grow the clinic, as can be supported by patient referrals
  • Continuously monitor and respond to clinical needs including those related to expertise, clinical hours training, and supervision
  • Assess training and supervisory needs of clinic staff and provide these as needed
  • Work with Center Director and Director of Operations to design, refine and implement strategies to achieve desired patient load through professional networking, organic media, social media, paid advertising, and other means
  • Create and administer a patient outcome and satisfaction monitoring system
  • Work with others in Center to facilitate a universal screening system and cross-referrals between clinical trials and Clinic
  • Maintain the highest level of ethical standards and confidentiality
  • Set up and administrate training opportunities, as per Center/Clinic need
  • Other related duties as needed based on the growth and developments within the WELL Center and WELL Clinic
Required Qualifications
  • PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology or closely related discipline
  • 3 years of relevant working experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Specialty in evidence-based treatment for eating disorders and/or weight control
