Job Summary:

As a member of the Alumni relations department reporting to the Director, Alumni Relations, the Associate Director, Alumni Relations is responsible for the planning and execution of regional (at the city, state, national and international levels), campus and virtual alumni engagement activities that strengthen alumni connections to Miami University.

Duties/Physical Demands:

Manage the development, implementation, organization and evaluation of programming, budget and activities for regional and international alumni chapters and chapter boards, including but not limited to budget planning and oversight; volunteer recruiting and training; event planning and coordination.
Develop new and enhance existing online (virtual) offerings across the department, division and campus to bring Miami University social, professional and educational content to all alumni enhance the profile of Miami alumni relations to alumni, students, community, faculty and staff.
Work with campus partners to foster alumni partnerships around the recruitment of incoming students and professional development of current students.
Coordinate annual fund efforts for key groups and projects through regular communication and strategic planning with Annual Giving and major gift officer(s) to ensure that Miami University achieves campaign fundraising and engagement goals.
Track metrics and data points to make strategic business decisions, determine effectiveness of programs, and to discover and cultivate opportunities for programmatic collaboration; produce reports and recommendations.
In conjunction with Advancement Corporate and Foundation Relations, identify and execute a sponsorship program for major regional and/or virtual programs.
Work in partnership with Advancement Communications to promote regional engagement in print, online, email marketing and social media.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree. Minimum three years of work experience; volunteer work may be counted towards this requirement.

 

Desired Qualifications:

Experience in alumni relations, non-profit or higher education. Experience in volunteer management.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Organized and task-oriented with demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills. Must possess the ability to manage several projects simultaneously. Ability to work collaboratively, proactively and positively. Strong communication skills with excellent written and verbal skills. Strong understanding and commitment to customer service. Willingness to work evenings and weekends, including travel.
