The Marist College Department of Computing Technology currently invites applications for a tenure-track position (Assistant or Associate Professor) or full-time faculty position (Professional Lecturer) in Cybersecurity and Information Technology and Systems (ITS) to begin in the Fall of 2022. The Department of Computing Technology’s academic mission is enriched by an inclusive community in which diverse perspectives are respected and valued. This position is part of a cluster hire, as we will welcome three new faculty members in the Department of Computing Technology.
Candidates for a tenure-track position must have a doctoral degree in Cybersecurity, Cyber Operations, Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a closely related field (particularly if the candidate holds current and relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, CEH, GSEC). We will consider ABDs in an appropriate field who will complete their dissertation within one year of hire.
Candidates for a Professional Lecturer position must hold at least a Master of Science of Science (M.S.) degree in computer science, IT, IS, cybersecurity, or related fields. A doctoral degree is not required (particularly if the candidate holds current and relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, CEH, GSEC, or similar).
Evidence of excellence in teaching and scholarly work is required. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Industry and/or consulting experience, and prior teaching experience, are highly desirable. As our programs host a diverse population, the proven ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment is highly desired.
Applicants should have the ability to teach in multiple areas, but we highly encourage candidates who have teaching and research experience in cybersecurity and can help develop new curricula in this field.
Applicants must be willing to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in both traditional on-ground, online or hybrid environments. Required duties besides teaching and research include engagement in college and professional services such as advising/mentoring students, serving on department, school, or college committees.
We seek candidates working in several areas of cybersecurity, including, but not limited to, ethical hacking, penetration testing, mobile device security, computer forensics, cryptography, network and database security, incident response, cryptography, reverse engineering, and related areas such as cybersecurity applications for machine learning, artificial intelligence, or quantum computing. This includes familiarity with the principles and operation of cybersecurity in computers and networks, including packet sniffing, intrusion detection/prevention, vulnerability scanning, log analysis, malware analysis, information security architecture, risk analysis, and incident response. Candidates with a robust track record of publications and/or the potential to develop a strong research agenda will receive preference.

Please note: The primary work location for this position is Poughkeepsie, NY. Local, on-campus work in Poughkeepsie, NY will be required as a condition of employment.
Relocation: It is College policy to reimburse eligible newly hired full-time administrative staff members for reasonable expenses incurred in relocating to the area. To be eligible for reimbursement, new employees must move a minimum of 50 miles from their present home; must move within the first year of hire. Generally, the College will reimburse eligible moving and relocating expenses up to $7,000.
