The Office Coordinator position is a full-year 40 hour, benefits eligible, weekly administrative support position in the Housing, Meal Plan, and ID Card Services office ( HMPID ).
Responsibilities include performing clerical tasks to manage the day-to-day operations of the HMPID office, providing customer service through in person and electronic communication, helping solve difficult situations, producing and distributing student ID cards, and assisting with data entry to all HMPID systems.
This position will work within a front-line team of administrative support professionals to provide exceptional customer service to students, parents, and faculty/staff.
This is a front-line customer service position that will be responsible for answering phones and learning all new software as needed.
This position is essential part of customer service for the department. Qualifications
Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
A minimum of three year’s administrative support experience required, preferably in an academic setting. Job Specific Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal communication
Strong organizational skill with the ability to multi-task
Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
Customer service skills in managing difficult situations
Ability to provide feedback and willingness to change with office development and growth Responsibilities
  • Serve as the initial point of contact within the HMPID office for all faculty, staff, students, and guests of Syracuse University.
  • Answer main HMPID phone line and provide requested information to students, parents, and colleagues. Forward caller to appropriate offices or staff members when needed.
  • Manage Orange Tracker tickets that are received by the HMPID office in a timely manner. This includes answering questions, providing information, or forwarding the ticket to the appropriate staff member(s).
  • Provide exceptional customer service to visitors to the HMPID office.
  • Utilize Answers.syr.edu to locate information on policies and procedures in the HMPID office.
  • Be a liaison to other campus departments from the HMPID office.
  • Produce and distribute SUID cards to faculty, staff, and students following University policies and procedures. This includes using the ID card portal to manage first time issue, lost and damage card replacements.
  • Monitor ID card photo submissions and approve or deny photos daily through the GET program. Management of ID card and meal plans through the Odyssey program.
  • Assist in the administration and management of housing, meal plan and ID card data including meal plan and housing adjustments, ID card portal, student billing, biometric hand scanning registration, residential access, and summer residential programs including summer camps and conferences.
