Overview:
Coppin State University, a fully accredited institution and member of the University System of Maryland, is accepting applications for an Operations Liaison to support Coppin Academy High School ( CAHS ). Founded in 1900, Coppin is a model urban, residential liberal arts university located in the northwest section of the City of Baltimore that provides academic programs in the arts and sciences, teacher education, nursing, graduate studies, social work, STEM, and the arts.
Job Summary:
As the Charter School Operations Liaison, the selected candidate will collaborate with the leader of Coppin’s Charter School, Coppin Academy High School, to support operations. The selected candidate must be an innovative, highly motivated, and organized professional with an interest to support the public charter school leader. The hire serves as the liaison between the school’s leader and the Coppin State University leadership.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Conduct leadership evaluations for the principal.
- Collaborate with principal for the timely submission of SLO targets and other required documents, including staff evaluations and school certification requirements.
- Coordinate Quarterly Oversight Board meetings.
- Support the management of school-based operations, ensuring the school follows all local, district, state, and federal laws and regulations related to the Charter process and the school’s efforts to document academic success.
- Make recommendation on training to support administrators, teachers, and paraprofessionals in best practices instructional strategies to support school benchmarks
- Support the execution of successful charter application, development of the accountability plan, and contract renewal processes.
- Monitor employment contracts of staff working in the school who are not currently employed in the school system.
- Support the principal in maintaining and strengthening relationships with families, between the Charter school and neighboring communities, to ensure student success and a strong enrollment continuum, including support of CAHS students participating in the dual enrollment process.
Education:
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree required
- PhD or EdD preferred
- Three to five years of experience within a public-school leadership role
- Experience managing charter school operations
- Principal or school superintendent experience
- Experience with budget management
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, track, and record fundraising activities for charter school and attract grants to support academic and athletic programs
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adjust priorities, and work autonomously
- Possess effective communication skills and the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships and work effectively in a collaborative environment
