Job Summary/Basic Function

As a key member of the Millersville University Development team providing gift processing and data support, the Gift Records and Research Fiscal Technician serves as a knowledgeable and efficient resource for daily gift processing and data updates to ensure data accuracy in all aspects of private support to Millersville University and the Millersville University Foundation. Processing annual gifts of $8 – $15 million and producing donor acknowledgements and regular reports, this position works closely with the Advancement Information Services Team to ensure timely reporting related to the current Imagine the Possible $90 million campaign for students.

Annual Salary : $40,900.00, plus comprehensive benefits, including:
  • Health insurance – Low bi-weekly premium. Employees pay 5% of bi-weekly salary for benefit coverage with ability to pay 2.5% when participating in the wellness program.
  • Dental insurance – Coverage is free to employee and dependents after 90 days
  • Vision insurance – Coverage is free to employee and dependents after 90 days.
  • Group life insurance – equal to annual salary at no cost to the employee
  • Retirement – 2 plans to choose from
  • Tuition waiver – employee, spouse, and dependents are eligible
  • Vacation leave – up to 11 days accrued per year for first 3 years, increases to 19 days per year after 3 years
  • Sick leave – up to 11 days accrued per year, including up to 5 days per year that can be taken to care for a family member
  • Holiday leave – 12 days per calendar year

Required Qualifications
  • One year as a Fiscal Assistant; OR three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices and graduation from high school; OR one year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an Associate degree in accounting or business administration; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Ability to:

o perform detailed work involving written or numerical data.
o make arithmetical calculations.
o prepare financial reports.
o apply and adapt established methods to financial transactions.
o multitask.
o work independently.
o Maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Flexible work schedule as dictated by the needs of the university.
  • Ability to work remotely if required due to University procedures.
  • Successful interview (Including Word and Excel tests)
  • Successful completion of three background checks.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with SAP or other automated accounting system.
  • Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and/or Financial Edge Software.
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Experience with Development Office and/or non-profit gift posting.
